Meet The Trash Consultant

Where It All Began

My 10+ years of experience in the waste removal industry began shortly after my career as a US Army Paratrooper ended.

In the early days of my trash career, I had two great mentors, Mike and Rodney, who had each possessed 30 plus years of experience in the waste removal business. I truly benefited from their willingness to teach and share the lessons they had learned over a lifetime. Since then, I’ve been fortunate enough to sell and manage everything from the smallest 2 yard accounts to the most complex accounts, costing over $10,000 a month.

An Unfair Bias

Early on, I noticed that the trash haulers’ contracts were designed to take advantage of their customers.

These “agreements” allow the trash company to give price increases at will, for any reason, at any time. Unless you jump through hoops, these contracts auto-renew before you have the chance to renegotiate… All haulers have their version of “agreements” and they may differ from one another, however, none are favorable to the end customer–and that’s one of the reasons it’s a $75 billion dollar industry. Learn more about trash brokers.

Over my career, I witnessed time and time again these large accounts altering the “agreements” to be more favorable, protecting themselves from the trash companies’ unlimited price increases. I would ask myself “If the terms could be altered for large accounts, why not for the local business owner too?”  Well the answer was simple.

The large accounts have help! They have the budget to hire a third party to manage their waste removal services, monitor the bills and keep the trash hauler from taking advantage. But what about the business owners who can’t afford that?

The answer: The Trash Consultant

Knowing that most business owners do not have the budget that warrants monitoring by a third party, how could I help them get the same type of favorable “agreements”?

What if I provide them my expertise and negotiate on their behalf when it’s time for them to sign or renew their “agreement”? I could potentially save them a lot of money, with the cost of my service being only a portion of that savings.
